Essential Oils to help induce sleep blog

Getting enough sleep is really important for our wellbeing, for our brain function, weight loss and stress reduction. There are certain oils that will really help you to get a good night’s sleep. These are:

  • Lavender – as this promotes relaxation
  • Chamomile - reduces stress and has a calming quality
  • Jasmine – has a molecular mechanism similar to medicines prescribed for insomnia
  • Peppermint – clears airways and reduces snoring

The oils work as the droplets reach your olfactory nerve receptors which relay the information to your brain, which helps prepare for sleep.

There are different ways you can use these oils. Such as;

  • In an oil burner before you go to sleep
  • In our diffusers before you go to sleep
  • By putting in a bath
  • Putting some of the oil on your pillow
  • Placing some in a carrier oil and rubbing one the skin
