Green Oregano Essential Oils

The word Oregano comes from the ancient Greek words "Oros" and "Ganos" Together, they mean "joy of the mountains.” Oregano oil comes from the oregano plant's leaves and shoots. But it is native to Europe, it now spreads all over the world. Oregano oil is produced by drying the plant's leaves and shoots. Once they are dry, steam distillation removes and concentrates the oil.

PLANT FEATURE

Oregano is a shrub that develops in the dry area with oval leaves. The essential oil of the Oregano emerges from the leaves and shoots.

COME FROM/HISTORY

Oregano is from Europe and belongs to the same family of plants as mint. The bride and groom would be crowned with oregano at ancient Roman and Greek wedding ceremonies to encourage longevity and wealth. Goddess formed Oregano as a sign of joy in Greek mythology.

 There are 3 to 4 dozen varieties of the perennial Oregano plant, often referred to as Wild Marjoram owing to its association with Marjoram herb.

BENEFITS AND USES

  • Oregano Oil can be combined with Lemon Essential Oil before being used as a surface cleaner and shook inside a spray bottle. It can easily keep away insects and cockroaches when sprayed along the wall bases and inside a home's dark corners.
  • It can prohibit the growth of fungus and mold by mixing the oil with water and spraying it in wet areas around the home, such as the shower.
  • It is generally cheaper as oil than in capsule form, while capsules can be helpful if you don't like the taste of oregano. The herb has also been put on the tombs of deceased loved ones for the assumption that it brings peace to them.
