National Tree Week 26.11.22 - 4.12.22

“Be like a tree.

Stay grounded.

Connect with your roots.

Turn over a new leaf.

Bend before you break.

Enjoy your unique natural beauty.

Keep growing.”

-Joanne Raptis

It’s National Tree week (26th Nov - 4th Dec) and I think it’s clear how much we love trees at Mood Essential Oils. National Tree week is the largest annual celebration in the U.K. for trees, it’s aim is to put emphasis on the annual tree planting season with support from the conservation sector, volunteer groups, and tree lovers from all far and wide. (Tree planting season runs between November and March, although it can stretch a bit longer in Scotland and Northern Ireland.)

The significance of planting trees is to sustain our planet, the earth needs trees to produce oxygen - this is of the utmost importance. However, there are many other reasons, these include;

  1. Reduces soil erosion
  2. Slows down global warming
  3. Encourages thriving wildlife (food and shelter)
  4. They act as natural air conditioners

As you can see, the common denominator here is that trees provide a liveable environment for us and all the animals, insects, and wildlife on the planet!

There are multiple ways you can get involved in planting trees. If you’re privileged enough to have an outside space you could plant one by yourself, simple easy steps include; a bucket, a tree in a container, a watering can, a spade & fork, a stake & tie, a tree guard or spiral and lastly, mulch.

Other ways you can plant a tree include; volunteering at charities which consists of all kinds of activities based around planting and caring for trees and wildlife. You can also plant trees by donating to charities too,

With the season also being the “Christmas season” we thought we’d look at real Christmas trees compared to artificial Christmas trees.

Christmas Trees

Artificial

  • Materials used last thousands of years

Climate change is harming our planet, but if we all make a small change, we can make a big impact.

Here at Mood Essential Oils we have partnered with More:Trees, this enables us to plant trees, so you can help sequester carbon dioxide in the future. Sometimes it's the little things that count.

Mood Essential Oils now automatically plants a tree for every order over £30! See here how many trees we have planted so far.
