Happy International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day

Happy International Womens Day! Thank you for being the woman you are and we could not imagine the world without you.

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually to draw attention to topics such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. As we make progress towards gender equality, there is no better time than International Women's Day to honour the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women throughout the world.

Women's rights: The rights and entitlements claimed for women and girls worldwide.

They differ from broader notions of human rights due to an inherent historical and traditional bias against the exercise of rights by women and girls. These include the right to bodily integrity and autonomy, to be free from sexual violence, to vote, to hold public office, to enter into legal contracts, to have equal rights in family law, to work, to fair wages or equal pay, to have reproductive rights, to own property, and to education.

The basis for the women's rights movement was formed in the 19th century and the feminist movements during the 20th and 21st centuries.

On March 8, 1908, needleworkers marched through New York City's Lower East Side to protest child labour, sweatshop working conditions, and women's suffrage. Starting in 1910, March 8 was designated as International Women's Day.

How To Make Women’s Day Special For Females In Your Life.

  1. Gifts.

Yes, it sounds very stereotypical but who can deny that they do not love a gift? Think of presents that will make them grin even larger. You may also browse for do-it-yourself gift   ideas or purchase something practical to make their day special.

  1. Day off work

Take responsibility for all domestic chores in the home and ask them to book the day off work and prepare the meals. For any of those in a leadership role consider arranging special leave for your female employees, a brunch at work, or finding ways to lessen their workload.

  1. Day Out

Consider some time away from the home, a change of environment can have major mental health benefits as well as being a special memory and adventure.

  1. At home Spa

Setting up an at-home spa, using basic remedies such as warm oil massages, meditation, and practising aromatherapy can be a relaxing and rejuvenating activity. This also gives time for reflection and appreciation of that which is done.
